Karafiber Tekstil has sucessfully commensed produciton of Lyocell fibre on its 2nd line in the month of July 2025, addining another 28,000 Tonnes per annum capacity, making total annual lyocell production capacity to 53,000 Tonnes.
The flagship Ecocell (Lyocell fibre by Karafibre Tekstil) manufacturing facility in Gaziantep, Turkey was established in year 2020 with the 1st line production capacity of 25,000 Tonnes. The second line installation work has started in early 2024 and completed by July 2025.
With usage of Green electricity and steam generation, the Ecocell production facility is step towards Karafiber’s long term strategy in investing green and sustainable products and technologies.
With excellent performance charatersitcs like high wet and dry strength, Lyocell fibre is the most sustainable man-made cellulosic fibre available today and can be used in wide range of applications across textiles, non-wovens, high end technical textiles. It can be blended with all kind of natural and man-made fibre.

Produced from natural raw material of wood pulp, Lyocell has superior moisture regain than cotton making it comfortable to wear while lasting its lusture and softness for many many washes.
With usage of biodegradable raw material, Ecocell maufacturing process recovers solvents up to 99.8% and uses back in the process making it completely closed loop process with lower enviornmental footprint.

Ecocell is used in versatile applications in textile and nonwoven across the globe. International brands are using Ecocel in Apparels, Home Textile, Denims, Hygeine products in Nonwoven. With integrated spinning and nonwoven manufacturing facilities, Karafiber is extensively investing in new product and application development for Ecocell.
